SAFCOL (South African Forestry Company SOC Limited) is a state-owned forestry company under the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE), managing plantation operations across Limpopo, Mpumalanga and KwaZulu-Natal, as well as Manica and Sofala provinces in Mozambique through IFLOMA.
Our mandate is to conduct forestry business — timber harvesting, timber processing and related activities, both domestically and internationally — while directly and indirectly employing approximately 5,000 people and supporting about 20,000 lives through job creation and social upliftment programmes.

Management and protection of the growing stock to sustainably provide logs to the industry and our internal processing mills.
FSC®-certified softwood pine logs processed at our sawmilling operations into kiln-dried, high-quality graded lumber products for construction and commercial projects.

About 61% of SAFCOL's plantations are directly affected by land claims. Our dedicated Land Claims Division works with claimant communities and government to achieve equitable, sustainable settlements.
SAFCOL delivers timber-frame construction using responsibly grown South African softwood — a sustainable, proven building method with a low carbon footprint.
